The Breakfast Solution Part 2

Cornflakes just don't cut it...

Did you know if you skip breakfast you are 5 times more likely to be classed as obese?

When I ask guys what their breakfast looks like usually it's non existent or terrible

And in the same breath I get lots of guys tell me they are low on energy, demotivated, worn out, unenthusiastic

It's no surprise when they are missing out on one of the most important meals of the day.

Now the jury is out on whether or not you NEED breakfast in order to be healthy but from working with hundreds of guys over the last two years I have found nothing beats a good breakfast when it comes to building healthier habits and a better lifestyle

Once we get the guys we work with eating a nutritious breakfast they see all kinds of benefits, the have more energy, are less likely to snack on crap throughout the day, they lose weight, feel better and look better too.

All these things have proven to me that breakfast really is where you need to start when it comes to nutrition, fat loss and your health.


This one is easy....

'I have no time'

Thats the answer we get time and time again when we ask 'so why don't you have breakfast in the morning'

Now this is an excuse, it may be a legitimate one but an excuse none the less

I get it, when you are in a rush to get to work, the traffic is going to be bad, the kids are going crazy it's hard to stop and take the time to not only make breakfast but sit down and eat it

So what can you do to save time and improve your health in one hit


Here are my top five, five minute breakfasts that will save time, boost energy and help you lose fat

1. The BLS SuperShake - This was the basis for 'The Breakfast Solution' part one and it's a great way to start the day and the go to breakfast for most of our guys.

Here is how you make a SuperShake in under 5 minutes. You'll need a blender (you can grab a £5 from argos it doesnt need to be expensive)

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 frozen banana (peel it the night before and stick it in the freezer)
  • 1 handful fresh baby spinach
  • 2 scoops chocolate protein powder
  • 1 huge spoonful of almond or peanut butter
  • Blend and drink
2. The BLS Breakfast Sundae - Grab yourself a bowl and a spoon and follow the recipe below


  • 1 handful of berries
  • 1 cup 0% Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp. of cashew butter
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein
  • 1 tsp. Honey
  • 1/2 handful oats
  • Mix and eat
3. Cheesy Mushroom Scramble - Eggs take less time than you think, follow this recipe for quick and tasty scrambled eggs


  • 3 eggs
  • 1 thumb sized portion of cheddar
  • 1 handful chopped mushrooms
  • 1 pinch salt and pepper
  • Mix and scramble in a hot pan and serve
If you are on the go throw it in a tortilla for a breakfast burrito and take it with you


4. Overnight Oats - This one requires you to prep the night before but 5 minutes the night before means you can just grab and go

  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup 0% Greek yoghurt
  • Mix it up and leave in the fridge
  • Add some nuts and berries in the morning

5. Smoked Salmon Sandwich - Bread?? Yes, I’m not a hater of bread now and then and by adding proteins and veg it balances the meal out

  • 2 thick slices granary bread
  • a few slices of smoked salmon
  • ¼ cup cottage cheese
  • ¼ of a cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 1 pinch salt and ground pepper
Make yourself a quick sandwich and hit the road



Good nutrition doesn't need to be complicated or time consuming but you do need to be consistent with good habits

Why not set yourself the challenge of having a nutritious breakfast every day for the next 30 days? I promise if you do this you will feel energised, you will make better choices and your health will improve.

You will probably lose a few pounds too...thats win, win in my eyes
